Easy Remove Footer Credit Plugin

A common WordPress question you find on forums is how to remove the footer credit of a certain theme. There are usually two solutions: 1) add some CSS to hide the footer credit or 2) remove the footer credit by modifying the footer.php file. The first option is tricky as you have to figure out the CSS and the second option is dangerous since if you make a mistake you can hose your site and with any theme updates your changes will be lost.

With my Remove Footer Credit plugin I solved this issue by allowing users to remove the footer credit of their theme by entering in the HTML of the footer credit. This worked well cause you didn't have to modify any PHP code so you could avoid breaking your site and could withstand theme updates. It also was nice cause you didn't have to figure out the CSS needed. One downside of the plugin was you had to figure out the exact HTML of the footer credit to remove which was tricky for some. With my new and improved plugin, Easy Remove Footer Credit, there is absolutely no coding knowledge needed so it's extremely easy to use.

How to Use

1. Click here to download the plugin.
   
   Please subscribe to my YouTube channel or Like my Facebook page below and you will be shown a download link for the plugin
    
2. In this example, I will be using the Storefront theme. This is how the footer credit looks before using the plugin
   
   
    
3. Go to your WordPress Admin and go to Plugins -> Add New
   
   
   
    
4. Click Upload Plugin
   
   
    
5. Click Choose File and select the zip you downloaded in step 1
   
   
    
6. Select the zip downloaded in step 1 and click Open
   
   
    
7. Click Install Now
   
   
    
8. Click Activate Plugin
   
   
    
9. Go to WordPress Admin and go to Tools -> Easy Remove Footer Credit
   
   
    
10. If your theme is detected (as it is for the Storefront theme) your theme's footer credit selector will automatically be added and you will see the green text
    
    
     
11. If your theme is not detected, the footer credit selector will not be automatically added and you will get the red text. A notification will be sent to me and I will email you the footer credit selector within 24 hours.
    
    
     
12. Enter your own footer credit if you desire or nothing to just remove the footer credit
    
    
     
13. View footer and notice credits are now gone
